We've stated this before, but usuallyit's in a blog entry or a thread, which can get buried. So for the record and in it's own thread in case anyone ever wonders again, you all can point them here…
We do roughly 12 pages or four weeks, then a week break in which we fill you in on supplemental material that's going on around the world here. Such as the contents of Charon's file she gave Sawyer, or a transcript of the interrogation of the EoD mage. Then we come back for another twelve pages or four weeks.
So that's four weeks, one week, four weeks, one week. You get the idea.
The two weeks happens anyways. We figured it's better to put the break halfway through the issue, so there's only a week off, as opposed to two weeks at the end of the issue. Production-wise, it's all about the same anyway. But it means a shorter wait for the readers.
Now there's five days we take off a year. Those days are Memorial Day, the Fourth of July (because we're both patriotic and respect our servicemen.), Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. During Christmas and New Years during that week or two between those two holidays, we usually run something small and a little fun, like the history of how the book was created or the Rival Angels crossover. (Regardless though, something still runs.)
Hopefully that clarifies things up.
