Noticed this place has been a tad quiet lately, so I am trying to breath a little life into the place. Although without a little necromancy, as that is not my thing.
What you folks playing at the moment?
Me?
On the video game side of things I have a friends PS3 hooked into my TV with Borderlands in it (Fracking Fantastic, like a 1st person shooter on an alien world with Diablo 2 skill tree and weapon generator built into its guns).
Also playing through an odd Japanese game on the PS2, Shin Megami Tensei: Lucifer's Call. It's a weird post apocalyptic Tokyo setting where you play a half demon, battling demons (ala final fantasy battle system) which the chance that the random demon enemies will join you and fight for you. Tis fun.
Role Playing wise currently playing Warhammer Fantasy Battles. Got an Initiate of Morr who has just spent all the EXP I can in that career. Next time I play I should have the option to move to my next career, Agent of the Shroud. (Undead Hunter of Morr).
Also got a Dwarven Inquisitor in Pathfinder. Pathfinder is rockin'! Beats 4th edition dnd hands down in my books, but that's just me.

Not much at the moment- there's a reason I haven't been on. It's called "overtime". I can't even get my friends over for board games.
But when I do get on, I play this cool little text-based thing called Improbable Island. It's free, and there's just been so much more content added since I've started that I've got to keep playing to keep up!

Yeah. I really don't have time for anything online anymore. Well appart from forums and comics that is. I wish I got payed for over time, but I guess being on a Salary, rather then a Wage had other pros and cons.

Salaried trumps unemployed. I just got laid off on Friday.
Before that I was starting to take up Warhammer 40K, but minis are hard to buy without Salary.
|
It's time for another good idea, bad idea: Good Idea – Getting your Insider character into the comic Bad Idea – Joining the EOD to do so. Gratz to Jacobus for the New Avatar!

Lately I've found the awesome that is Minecraft. Though the lethality of simple creatures bugs the crap outta me… Nothing like digging WAY down into a mine, getting a bunch of rare ore, and getting jumped by a skeleton that kills ya and makes you lose it all.
Oh and Imperial Guard rocks the house.

Never been a Guard man myself. Started off the Tyranids when I first got into 40k. Got the urges to get tanks, so at the moment I am trying to decide on either Marines of some sort or Grey Knights . . . That's just me though
Warhammer Fantasy I likes the Empire. Warmachine I like Khador and Hordes I like Circle. Bit of a mixed bag I am

I was on my third character on DCU Online (first female, first villain and first in PvP) after having maxed out my first two heroes. For some reason, no matter how much I beef up the health and defense and might (adding "oomph" to super powers) I always manage to encounter opponents that can defeat me quite easily. And people who come at me in pairs/groups. And people that can't tell or don't care when I'm not interested in fighting.
Then I saw recently that Final Fantasy XIII -2 was coming out at the end of the year, and I figured I should start getting THAT finished.
Still got a few games I haven't even started yet. Assassin's Creed 2, Shadow of the Colossus, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune…

There's another game I haven't finished, which I may trade in without completing it…Secret Agent Clank. I actually liked the stealth aspects, but right around the card game where you have to press certain buttons in sequence, it became far too infuriating. Shame, since I enjoy the series.

Yeah, never played much Ratchet and Clank myself. I assume that is the series you're talking about?

Sadly I'm way too poor for the real thing so I need to resort to the Dawn of War games for my IG fix. Just something about entrenching myself and pounding everyone else into the dirt with artillery and Leman Russ tanks. I dig the Tau too but I suspect I'd get funny looks if I ever ponied up the brain power/cash to play the real thing with the Tau.

Tau are getting re-released soon from what I hear.
Also, why would you get funny looks? I have seen them do nasty things!

They're not quite… Orky. Heh. On Dawn of War at least a few squads of Fire Warriors with a spotter can turn just about anything into dog meat. The whole Anime thing doesn't really appeal to me but the combat style does.
The only race I had problems with is the Necrons and that's because in Dawn of War they have a wild requisition system that's slower then hell. You have to be fast on getting it up and running or suffer the death of a thousand enemies to your two or three squads.

Yeah, this is true. But if you manage to pump your power stations out (10 in total) you can giggle as your Monolith teleports around the map nuking things for you. Although, be sure to have a second HQ build to max so that when the first is destroyed, you can upgrade it while your 1st is being repaired.
Also, Shift+click is a GOD!

I will say this. It was an evil thrill to get the Orks with free Slugga Boyz and send wave after wave of greenskins into the enemy bases to just do some bashing before getting mowed down like grass while I launched assaults controlling my non-cannon fodder units.
So who wants to sign up for Tain's Hero Squad! I promise not to send you in with nothing but a gun that shoots only if you think it will and paint your car red (Cause red ones go faster)!

Aye. All the other games have been equal in fun and humor, and when they get "darker and edgier", they don't over do it. You can pick any one up and not really feel as if your missing out, though the games do have connections in one form or another. A lot of replayability with each of them. Secret Agent Clank…not so much.

I'm playing Tau, though I suspect that the guys I'm playing with play a heavily homebrewed set of the rules, which is negating some of the benifits of playing shooty armies.
Haven't got to play dawn of War, but I don't get much game time that can't be had on a Mac.

As far as the first games go the original and Winter Assault are awesome! The rest I believe were done by a different company and naturally they screwed some stuff up. If I want 10 Leman Russ Tanks I damn well should be able to have them. Grumble grumble unit caps.
Haven't played the second one yet but that was more from being forced into Space Marines only for the single player. It's next expac will let you play just about everyone.
