Question for the Daves, if it's not a spoiler… Is Chrissy's mother ("Merri") one of the Cold Ones who was killed being used by Mother Hydra to wear down the United ShadowChild, or did she not respond to the call?
Looking at the images from "Face to Face to FACES" through and the finale page of "Cold Comfort", I see three visible females in the gathered mob, but only one with Merri's coloring, and none who match her markings. The one with Merri's coloring does not noticeably appear in the following pages, but the other two, one loses an arm in page one of "The Bloody Shore" and the other is caught in the Master's blast spell in the first page of "Eye of the Storm".

I'm just wondering why it wasn't until stupid-o'clock-in-the-morning until Charon discovered the results of what happened to Becka at the mall…
Unless the mall itself was a dream sequence, and it's actually the night before that would have happened… which seems horribly unlikely…

On the subject of 'Not-Mommy'… for some reason I've always had this impression that Phil would have some society wife to complete the public image; maybe someone connected to the EOD who's willing to be mother to the mother of, well, the Mother. Or like suggested he just married someone from his social stage to complete the picture and has always said Chrissy's birth-mother died in childbirth or was some accidental product of him gadding about the society scene and sowing his wild oats that he was taking responsibility for… not sure why, but I've always just assumed there'd be some patsy in there to complete the illusion of a perfect Innsmouth first-family.
Going back to the present… it's good to see our gals standing by each other. I'm wondering if Chrissy is wondering if Gage re-appearing might have something to do with her possibly assuming he's Becka's biological father. Maybe out of concern for Charon she's wanting to find out if this douche is back in town to cause her legal woes by claiming paternity?
Either way… much liike the box at the end of Oldboy, I really don't think Chrissy wants to look in that case…

Well, Charon could've been out late and didn't find out until later (a lapse in her otherwise decent mothering skills, if you ask me) due to low cell battery or it was on silent or whatever-all-else.
OR, she found out soon after the fact, and could only spend so much time with Granny Gollum at the hospital before she needed someone else to talk to about it. And who better than another mother with a hospitalized teenager?
There IS a third possibility…that Rebecca is missing and Charon can't get a hold of her (suspicious eyes then turn to Moira), and she needs a friend. And if that friend HAPPENS to be loaded and possess resources to help find Becka…so much the better (to be clear, I'm going with the "Charon needs a friend first, and monetary connections didn't occur to her and would be a coincidence" position).
