Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap, oh crap, oh crap, oh crap, oh crap on crap cracker!

If Gage is about to do what I think he's about to do, I think I know EXACTLY why a certain someone never wants Jackson anywhere near her (from the preview last year).

Ha! Something tells me that this time Jackson will come off a little better in this hetero-male-pissing-contest rerun.

Might be called "The Drywall Blues" because Gage has to pull his head out of some sheetrock.

He's been working night and day on a case for a guy he absolutely despises, who BROUGHT him the damned case in the first place, alienating his wife, not seeing his daughter, working his ass off to try to get this accomplished, and Gage suddenly comes along and says "Oh nevermind, I don't feel like doing that any more."

…The police won't even be able to find all the bodyparts.

Can I say I called it?

Okay, Gage really is a douchebag here. I'm not even sure how this gets him what he wants, if we were reading it all right and he is Becka's father. She and Charon are still going to be living in a bad situation, with the EoD hanging over their heads.

Well, you know how it is… pushing the story can make his daughter's life better.  Accepting lots and lots of EoD hush-money gets him lots and lots of money.  Gage is the sort of guy who values one of these things more than the other.

Hit him again, Jack.  Go for the face.

Rip his head off and shove it down his neck, Jack. Above all, do NOT let him back out of this after starting it in the first place. I mean it. That look on your face is saying "Crap, I can't do anything about this." The hell you can't! This could be the most important case you've ever worked on: DO NOT LET HIM BACK OUT NOW!

I'm going to be an omniscient reader for a moment, and say "let it go". Mainly because I'd much rather Fides break the story, and let Gage take the EOD heat for not shutting up.

It's time for another good idea, bad idea:
Good Idea – Getting your Insider character into the comic
Bad Idea – Joining the EOD to do so.

Gratz to Jacobus for the New Avatar!

I'm wondering if Gage has taken the proverbial big pile of cash for this, or if the EOD made him an offer he really couldn't refuse… as in "we know where that kid and her mother live… screw the magic and monsters, we'll just put six pounds of C4 under the front step… bullet from a passing car… 'fatal gas leak'… you get the picture?"

Maybe he's taking the high road… playing the douche, just like he always has, but for noble reasons… teenage Gage had a slip of nobility and wisdom to him in his tussle with teen Jack. I'm not quite ready to send him off to the lonely step yet, I don't think.

Or maybe I'm being too charitable. We shall see.

I don't know about "wisdom", but I definitely DISagree with the "nobility" thing. As a teen, all he cared about was getting laid. He was a manipulative ass who knew how to read people. He was (remains) charming and attractive to the ladies. Responsibility didn't seem to be his strong suit. He actually reminds me of someone I knew (and loathed in high school).

The last thing he said to Banks was in regards to his daughter. He didn't mention wanting her protected or let off the hook or whatever, he simply wanted his daughter. Maybe cash was involved, but I'm getting a feeling Gage is going to switch lawyers and launch a custody battle. Heck, that's what I've been expecting him to do with Jackson, but that isn't gonna happen now.

I'm actually shocked he made it through the wall (bill him for that, too, Jack!).

Incredible luck.  Standard stud spacing is 16 inches, Gage went through a wide spot.  If he had hit on a stud, it probably would have killed him.  He probably has multple fractures now, sheetrock is surprisingly tough stuff.

it's drywall. It's not THAT strong. I believe both me and D.Rod have put our brothers through them before when we were younger.

Then find some sheetrock and put him through that. For that matter, a nice concrete wall sounds like a good idea too.

As for anyone saying Gage took the highroad, I don't buy it. His words to Philboyd way back when make it sound like he not only knew the EOD would interfere, he came to town EXPECTING them to interfere and planning to negotiate to get whatever it was he REALLY wanted (which was never this case he's had Jack working on). He got them to agree, so now he's dropping his decoy case and planning to run off with his prize (whatever it is) without actually doing a thing about the EOD.

Because I'm depressingly honest with myself, I have to add that the only thing that doesn't fit with that in his behavior is him sending Fides off to grab his files from his room before the EOD could get to them. I don't know what's up with that, and it doesn't fit, because he told her to get the stuff to Jack, but here he is telling Jack to forget about everything.

I think it's more that if the EoD managed to just take the files from him he would have lost his one bargaining chip to ensure that he doesn't become fish-food.

And I'll form the head!
