Hmm… Mayhaps the Shadow Child is not as… beneficent… as we have come to believe…

T'was quite the ominous statement. Is she taking an oppurtunity to take Becka under her influence (doubt that'd work, unless the Crone is a logistics whizz)? Or perhaps she'll take the wheel of Becka's physical form?

I don't know- maybe she was hiding herself from Moira and couldn't tell Becka of the danger until she was sure she couldn't find them. At least I hope. Becka needs someone on her side. :/

Someone's not a morning person, hehe.
I'm fairly sure that bird was some sort of evil parasitic entity. It's very reminiscent of the spider creature that's been haunting Becka this whole time, so the Shadowchild is probably just protecting her. I agree that she was either hiding herself from Moira or maybe had even been sealed up somehow (though that seems unlikely). I did find it odd that the Shadowchild never showed up to help Becka during all these mental attacks…

perhaps the "rules" limit the shadowchild from manefesting in the "real"world to converse with bekka.but once bekka is in the deamlands she gains home court advantage.

Actually, wasn't it mentioned in one of the previous chapters following the battle with Mother Hydra that the Shadowchild was out of commission for a bit? Maybe she's been recovering and is just now re-awakened.

The last time Becka and Charon were in the Dreamlands, Mother Hydra sent a murder of crows a lot like that guy to keep them and the Shadow Child Entity out of her hair. And it worked, to an extent; Becka got through but only by being launched by the other two.

That's an idea, however, remember that Becka used her powers to move the rubble in order to give Robert a proper burial.

Not to mention, she also powered up during the fight with Aspis and a brief power up temper tantrum when discussing things with her mom.

Maybe the spiderthing was the problem? Maybe Becka needs to dream for the Shadowchild entity to be able to manifest.

And looking at today, I'd say that the Shadowchild just… isn't a morning person.
Nice use of Becka and the panel edge to keep the comic rating down with naked shadowchild there, btw.
the "at last" from Wednesday may indicate that she was indeed somehow unable to get loose before and warn Becka about some of this stuff. Which she now will do, if she can get Becka to wake up and stay awake.
… after stopping the threat to her.

We've seen the Shadow Child exposed before. Where her anatomy would be an issue, she either has armor, or is without the anatomical detail that would trigger the issue. Remember, not really biological, so without certain systems. The rest is all probably Nodens' idea of aesthetics; after all, he expected to have to look at her fairly often for a few thousand years, and would also want his allies to be… inclined to aide her.

Agreed. Possibly a sign that the spider, or perhaps Moira, has infected her with something. That would explain the "stricken" remark.
And from the crimson plume's speech, I'd say that perhaps the birdy is coming back…in a BIG way, come Monday.

I think it's referring to Mr Buttchin intead of the bird as it's hovering over his torn corpse. Still I doubt he'll be in a good mood after being blown apart just doing his job.

I presumed the bird from the use of "nestling". But I suppose the arachnid could qualify.
