I think the general assent here is that Jackson should maybe at the very least think before he says things. Relationships involve two people, usually. Chrissy is dealing with the fact she's harboured a lot of resentment towards Charon (and her husband's obvious affection for her – I'll not say romantic interest) and it's been misplaced. She can almost certainly see where she's been a grade-a bitch in the past, how this has damaged her daughter, and she can see where she's pushed Jack away with her own actions. And she dealing with the fact she's not strictly human. And her daughter is in a coma and she seems to be the only one that is dealing with it. Jackson just works merrily at the office, runs off in the middle of the night for work (brought to him by someone Chris only really knows as the town lothario), etc. It's not what she needs.
Chrissy needs a bit of a break here – trying to be a good person is a bit of a tough one for her; she's having to figure it out as she goes along. She's not wrong to want some support from her husband in this. She's certainly not wrong to want to try and bridge any gaps she's made between herself and Jackson by spending some time with him, and maybe get a break from sitting at the side of a hospital bed looking at a child that for all she knows might never wake up again… that's got to be hell for any mother. She needs a little affirmation. A hug. A pat on the back. Hell, anything to convince her she's not screwed up too badly and that everything will be ok. Even if it's a lie. The man's gonna break her heart and she'll wind up right back where she was before, maybe even worse. And that breaks my heart a little bit… I'm a sucker for villains maiking good
"This stuff can't really hold, but to hell with it – I'm not spending enough time with you. I'll come pick you up at the hospital and we'll get something to eat. I'll have to go back soon, but I can spend some time with my favorite girls. See you in ten."
See? Easy. Innsmouth ain't exactly gonna be like rushing across New York at rush hour. Not telling her too much, either.
As for this latest development… I think even without telling her what Misty had got planned for her, Chrissy will know how rough her kid's been on Becka. After all, she's more or less encouraged it for how many years? She might not want to hear or believe it if Becka spills the whole story, but she'd probably know her daughter was at least capable of it because time was that she was too.
And for the record, I'd hardly call Chrissy's biomom horrid

I don't want that to happen. Seeing an antagonist turn around and become good is something I love seeing in a story (at least when it's handled well, and I believe it has indeed been handled well here), and the thought of Chrissy losing all that progress she's made is… well, yeah, heartbreaking, like you said.
As for the mouseover, someone's changed it. It originally said something like "Come on, you knew she wasn't really going to do it. This is Becka we're talking about." That's not exactly how it said it, but I think it's close enough.

To the point on the possibility of Mother Hydra instigating Becka's near-rape…I have my doubts. Consider that this is an ancient being, and at the time, Mistletoe Snow was little more than the latest fashion trend in the "higher power's" line of human puppets.Typically the more pompus dieties couldn't care less for the mortals. Taking the time and effort to plan something like that for a "lowly mortal" just doesn't seem to fit, unless Hydra got bored waiting for "the right time" to unmake reality and this was what she saw as the "trendy" thing to do. Y'know…for evil soulless bitches passing the time.

It would be easy to blame everything on the eldritch monster, but I don't believe it. People don't need help from ancient gods to do horrible things: they can be evil entirely on their own. It is not at all out of character for a spoiled rich brat to do something just like that to a girl she doesn't like. Remember Misty had a hanger-on at that party who thought the whole thing was just as hilarious as Misty thought it was.
Now, I suppose it's possible that the presence of Mother Hydra inside Misty may have influenced her mental development, but I really don't think anything like that is needed as an explanation.
Of course, if I believe that Misty was responsible for the rape attempt on Becka, that puts me right back at my earlier issue: do we want Misty to wake up? I think it really depends on if she remembers what's happened to her and has learned anything from the experiences. Sure, I don't think she should be left to Atlach-Nacha's mercy, but if she's still an unlikable brat I don't think I'd really want her back in the story. On the other hand, she's certainly been through enough trauma to justify some character growth, and if she can make a genuine effort to redeem herself… well, I'd like to see it.

Heeheehee…
I'm also reading Anne of Green Gables.
Now back to the regularly scheduled actual discussion of the comic.

This reminds me of a plot I saw once, pretty sure it was on Angel, where they extablished the kid is possessed by a demon, go though 30-40 minutes of good Exorcism bits, then twist it when the demon thanks them because the kid is a soulless monster who trapped the demon, and frankly the demon was getting more than a little disturbed by what the kid was doing all on his own.

Yep, that was Angel.
Anyone else expecting an apology from Chrissy tomorrow?

Actually those are selling REALLY well. Apparently some guy named von Strucker ordered like 3 gross of them.
He also had this wierd question about if they could deflect a adamantine-vibranium disk…

Allowing myself to drag this even further off course, I watched IronMan 2 with my 4 y/o yesterday. He Pronounced it "boring" and informed me "The Cartoon (Avengers) is better."
But I almost fell out of my chair laughing when the Agent drags a prototype of Cap's Shield out of Daddy Stark's box, and asks "Do you know wht this is?" and [redacted].
