Ahahaha! Awesome.
Can anyone else see where this is going? Or rather, not going?

Sex is a nice motivation, but this blatant? Puh-leaze… he'd better reject her as fast as a banker'd reject a 3$ bill with ol' MJ's face on it, or I'll start hurling dead dogs and feces in his general direction. (who said reading Spider Jerusalem never did me any good?)
Edit: Gotta love lysdexia-based typos…

Blatant can be useful. But she never actually says it, simply implies it. She may just give him free car repairs for a year.

Years ago, my Dad regaled me of a story where one of my Uncles tried paying for something with a gag three-dollar-bill. The woman checking him out ALMOST went for it before he brought the anomoly to her attention.

While that would be a funny turn around (depending on if he goes for it), this is Charon we're talking about. Sure, the paranormal reality of ManFishies and Old Ones may've changed her view of certain things, and she may've befriended her old enemy from high school, but I don't think she's changed THAT much.
Maybe it's the eyepatch. Maybe I should get an eyepatch.

I don't know… the mouth may be saying something tempting in one respect, but the eyes really seem to be saying "Do it and I won't have to break your legs."

*laugh* Touché – me, I try put them out of my memory so that the story ends up being a surprise. Much the same way that I fast-forward thru the (very similarly engineered) opening scenes of my Remington Steele DVDs.

Heh, I had a buddy years ago that told me he'd managed to convince a gaggle of gals that guys had periods too, but "we're just to embarassed to talk about it". Mind you, they couldn't have been brain surgeons, but that he pulled it off is scary…

…and then science comes around and shows that males do have a hormonal cycle remarkably similar to a woman's period.. go figure

… yeah, but I mean, he convinced them that men bleed from somewhere (can't remember which orifice he said – and come to think of it, I'd rather not).

I hope like hell Pat refuses if she really is referring to what she seems to be referring to. She may be inferring free car repairs for a year or something, but this is Charon we're talking about here. She has in fact inferred such things to get what she wanted before. Still, because it's Charon, or any other attractive woman for that matter, I think I'd lose a modicum of respect for Pat if he didn't at least enjoy the thought, let alone cave. Still, I think I'd lose more respect for him if he did cave, cause isn't he married or at least engaged? I think I remember something like that. Might have to go back and read the whole series so far again.
Oh, either way, I hope more than anything he does what Charon is asking him to do, whatever she may be inferring.

I think he will do it. If for no other reason then because those articles are gonna bug the ever-living hell out of him until he does find out for himself whats going on.

I like Charon's attitude about sex- and about when she will, and will not use it. I think she's willing to sleep with him no matter what, but if he helps, he gets free car service.

Looking back on chapters 2 and 3, I didn't see any indication that Sawyer is engaged or married. Only ring I saw was a little loop in his right ear lobe that he had up until "The Calvalry" onward. If Eregnon wasn't just being coincidentally sarcastic, perhaps THIS is where he gleaned his theory.

Not really being sarcastic. I just thought it would be funny if he said that.
