All this talk of cars just keeps remindin' me how far I've got to go to get the Barracuda ready to drive.

I have this horrible feeling that that might be the credo of this season…
"Some things can't be fixed."

Oh, Becka, Sweetie! Take it easy on the no-doze. Those pills do nasty things to you. I know nightmares suck, but so do trips to the hospital.

Yeah, NoDoz is dangerous business if you take that much. *shakes head*
But then, if the dreamscape is as 'real' as waking reality (and in this instance it could be), it's avoidance of a dangerous situation for the moment. Trouble is, if she collapses, she'll be stuck in it alone for an extended time.
And… trying to feel out the issue without Charon becoming suspicious is not easy, for certain. Parental instinct after all. Heehee.
I could make a random plot guess, but I don't want to potentially guess right and spoil it for others.
As for Albert… how quickly he went depends on where he went, really. Maybe. But then, I could outlogic myself and figure that isn't the case as well, so…

Indeed. Trying that hard not to sleep cannot end well. As for the woman with the car, it is all a coping mechanism for the loss of the husband. She will do everything she can, well beyond the point of reason, to hang on to that car. It and the book are all she has left.
I also am curious about the glowing eyes. If they actually glowed all the time, you figure someone would notice. If either McCay were standing with someone in a dark room, would that someone be able to see her eyes?
Unrelated note: I am curious how well the comic intigrates with the Insiders. I realize that it is supposed to stand allone, but the fact remains that the two are best friends, share goals, and it is reassuring to have a heavy hitter in your corner, should you need one. In this case, it seems that the both of them are heavy hitters in different fields.

As far as the glowing eyes go, I'll address it right now. For the most part, it's an artistic visual effect. Like in Star Wars, where Anakin's eyes, after he turned to the dark side were sometimes yellow and then sometimes normal. There is a slight glow to them, but for the most part, you wouldn't notice them unless you were in the dark, staring at their eyes. And to be honest, that's more of a issue for Charon than Becka.
But even then, it wouldn't be THAT noticable. If this was reality, it wouldn't look so much like they're glowing as much as it would look like they're wearing fake bright blue contacts.
I'm keeping my mouth shut on the rest.

Since the glow effect was actually active for the entirely of season 1 for Misty, and no one commented then (though I did always think there was something Off about her eyes) I'm assuming the blue is the same thing.

Wait, snorting her eyes? You're suggesting she's a cephalopoid?

Ha! The no-doze.
It makes things easier perhaps if the eyes were just more reflective, but it would really have made things more interesting (difficult on the lives of the McCays) if they really glowed.
I never commented on it earlier because I just found out about the comic last week.

Well, bear in mind, there IS something unnatural about their eyes. Nothing to the point of standing out like Cyclops of the X-Men of course. It's like when you run into someone wearing purple contacts. Obviously they don't have purple eyes, but it's noticeable to a point. If this was 40 years ago, someone might have really taken notice of it. As back then, the only contacts around where those thick ass Sclera lens that covered the entire eye, but you can only wear for like 15 minutes at a time, without damaging your eyes. But in today's age where we have custom contacts made, where they can literally glow in the dark… Seriously, they literally have blue glow in the dark contacts… It just comes across as the McKay girls being somewhat "Hot Topicy" than "inhuman"

If I could stand the thought of purposely sticking my finger and a foreign object into my eyes. I'd get me a set of those.

… … oooookaaayyyy. Christmas Snow and Charon having a civil conversation and going out for coffee… I'm gonna go to dump my obviously LSD laced tea and go to bed now before my brain explodes from the implications.

Well… certainly turns up the 'ick' on Becca calling it a 'date'. And Heh. Love the initial reactions to one another.
Depending on what the conversation at coffee is going to be, I'm almost impressed at the front Chris is putting up after the first incident and finding out all that stuff she did during it. And heh at admitting the hate. and the "white trash supermodel" line. Nice. Heehee.
… the Daughters of Innsmouth holding a gala. That is a very frightening thought on a whole lot of levels.
Almost as frightening as Charon and Chrissy going for coffee together.

Yeah, shouldn't be trying to catch the midnight updates, because having my mind blown at 2 in the morning isn't fun.
So can we get a confirmation from some female types that this kind of thing (mortal enemies to b***hy buddies) can actually happen in teh real world?

…and if you look in the background of the last panel, you can see in the window the reflection of the four horsemen of the apocalypse smoking crack in the driveway.
All kidding aside, I can see this happening. They both went through some crummy situations together, and friends have been made over less.

Something about seeing these two getting along makes me happy (also tells me it can't last, but I'll take it where I can).
Yes, I retain my soft-spot for the second-biggest bitch in Innsmouth. Well, third-biggest.
I will also stand by my defense that it has nothing to do with the painting pin-up. Nothing at all. Nonononono…
