Hey,every sentient weapon's gotta have triggers ad failsafes. Just ask River Tam. It's just occasionally unfortunate when the various triggers and failsafes are at odds with each other.

You guys are reading, but you aren't looking. We know that font. That's the one Annaline and Mordecai cast in. It would also line up with Granny Gollum saying the arm isn't "Mundane Technology", meaning it's Arcane Tech.
That also means that she's got at least 2 schools of Magic under her command, possibly a third (naturally or from the Eye). Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Starkweather himself the only person we've seen in Universe who can command more than one form of magic to date?

Well, now we're more where I expected this fight to go. Oh dear. See you in the Emergency Room, sweetheart.
This is why you shouldn't ever build an auto-dismantler into a weapon

I noticed it right off the bat hence my "creepy math powers". Makes sense I suppose since she's using a psychofact and has been for awhile. Unless of course all magic items in the Dave-verse are called that… Still she's a villain and villains need every last ounce of power to stand up to multiple heroes. Now if she breaks out into martial arts or does some John Woo style action THAT might be a bit too much.
Still NOWBODY does that to Max! Where's The Destroyer when you need her!?

No spoilers. Just that Moira's past is probably one of the most interesting of the entire cast.
Ninjas may have been involved. Or Pirates.

If she's worn the mask, that'd be PASTS, in the plural, and is guaranteed to include both Pirates, Ninjas, and quite possibly Cowboys.

It's time once again for everybody's favorite game, "You Know You're In Trouble When…" I am your host, Valor, and the rules are the same as ever: State how you know when you're in trouble! I will of course start the first round. You know you're in trouble when you have cybernetic enhancements and some nefarious individual begins chanting in math.

You know you're in trouble when you look at the comic, then email the writer:
Come on Dave, everyone knows that the Equasion to fry the power supply of a cybernetic interface is
ΔJ=σ(AKC(3-ρ)/4αG)

You know you're in trouble when a freaky one-eyed she-b***h wipes out your whole team in under ten seconds, and then makes your own arm- *gak*

Intresting… so Max is former EoD as well? Or just a whitecoat's pet guinea pig. Discuss.

Oh f***! >_<; This is so horrible… Too, too horrible. I cheered inside when Max clobbered the vile old Old One-worshipping *****, and now this. Won't someone wake up and punch Moira in the back of the head? Or hit her with a sledgehammer?
Max may not survive, I fear.

I'd kind've assumed that she was either a former EOD chip-controlled sock-puppet, or that she'd been Bionic Man'ed from confiscated EOD tech.
What I find unexpected is that the (presumably) EOD-based mental hardware protected her better than the armature did. Were I an uber-ebil Whitecoat, I'd've made sure any mental mechanisms would have a triggerable (and fatal) secondary override, in case the slave I'd embedded it into manage to overcome the primary mental compulsions. After all, the arm is only as powerful as the mind it's attached to.
Either way, so she's down a cyborg hand, and that's a bummer – but so what? I wouldn't be surprised to find she's planted a gun in Moira's belly with the other one, in the next installment.
