The bigest single problem with "No Child Left Behind" is that they failed to deliniate clearly between "Left Behind" and "Reached their Stop, and got off".

I personally think we need a dual approach, Classroom or Apprentiship. Anyone who doesn't want to be in a classroom until majority can go to work for the state learning a trade, and the school district gets 70% of the wage you would have been paid for the position. This gets the ones who won't learn out of the classroom, and brings much needed money back into the system. Down side would be that Liberal Arts Majors would loose their fast food jobs

My biggest fear in teaching is actually character assassination. All it takes is one student claiming sexual impropiety and you're unemployable for life, and I know guys who were accused because the student was unhappy with her grade. I can't afford to take that kind of risk with my family on the line.
