Contest is gonna go until someone gets them all right, or until we hit "indigo". There's no limit on how many guesses one can make. You wanna run through them all making every single possible combination, you all can. It's just for fun.
As for the reasoning behind Lindsey being the Red Lantern is simple… She's powerless. She does not possess the superhuman abilities some of the others have. She's angry. She runs on adrenaline. Think about almost every single major action she's taken in the series… It's always been guided by anger and frustration. She's got a short temper and never thinks things through.
That's not the part I'm confused about. Perhaps "conflicted" would be a better word.
*cough*
You thing perhaps Charon should be Red?

iplease remember that in order to be a black lantern, you must be dead, which translates into ZOMBIE. so, that said, i can't think of anyone as THE black lantern (worships death, kills self) but everyone could become a black lantern, provided they die first.
Not necessarily. They don't have to be dead, just have to be "not alive." (For example, the Spectre. He's not dead he just was never alive. He's an entity beyond life and death.) Of course that narrows down who the Black Lantern is to probably two candidates now…

So we have 2 possible Blacks, and 7 other unknown colors, that's 10,080 possible combinations. Do we need to put each in it's own post, or can we just blast them all in one Run?

Assuming I made no mistakes in trimming, these are the female Shadowgirls characters from the Mythmakers Melee list:
Rebecca McKay Charon McKay Lindsey Jun Yeoh Christmas Snow Mother Hydra Maxine Luisa Marquez Fides Moira McKay Merri
I'm going to rule out Maxine Marquez and Fides as minor characters, and suggest that Charon's grandmother (Susan McKay?), and the independent / unified Shadowchild Entity is one of them. Can't count Nodens in; don't know if that entity is male or female.
Given this, here's my first crack at it:
Red Rage Lindsey Jun Yeoh Orange Avarice Chrissy Snow Yellow Fear Misty Snow Green Will Becka McKay Blue Hope Shadowchild Indigo Compassion Susan McKay Violet Love Charon McKay Black Death Moira McKay White Life Merri

Okay then, new guess:
Red = Rage = Lin-Lin Orange = Avarice = Misty/Mother Hydra Yellow = Fear = Moira Green = Will = Chrissy Blue = Hope = Fides Indigo = Compassion = Becka Violet = Love = Charon Black = Death = The Shadowchild White = Life = Susan (Becka's great-grandmother)

Bah, figures I'd forget love. Edited list, with some shifting around from DRey's hints
Red/Rage=Lindsey (already revealed) Orange/Avarice=Moira (For the shadowed hint that she is the Master) Yellow/Fear=Mother Hydra/Misty (Because Mother Hydra is all about fear and Chaos) Green/Will=Fides (It takes some strong will power to be able to watch-even to coordinate counter strikes against-what the EoD does) Blue/Hope=Becka (She's young, and children, to me, always represent hope, especially in a story such as this)
Indigo/Compassion=The Shadowchild/Nodens (Divine Protector-and it takes a powerful amount of compassion for that)
Violet/Love=Susan McKay (A little iffy on this one, because it's either her or Merri) Black/Death=Charon (going by her name, and the fact that she's killed before)
White/Life=Chrissy (And think about it, Chrissy and Charon are so completely opposite eachother they're practically the two sides of the coin.)
But meh, lol I'm just here for the good story the Daves are telling, and I can't resist playing symbol games, especially color-based ones.
I have some major issues here.
First: misty/mother hydra should be orange because she is referred to several times as selfish and greedy, and YELLOW LANTERNS ARE ABOUT FEAR AND ORDER, NOT FEAR AND CHAOS. the sinestro corps are SPACE NAZIs.
Charon as her shadowchild partial manifestation should be the red lantern because she is feral, and there are approximately two red lanterns ever who kept their mental faculties. the rest are rage/hate filled feral animals (charon is referred to as being feral at one point)
as i said, Mother Hydra should be Agent Orange because she is greedy and selfish.
Linsey SHOULD be sinestro corps because like sinestro, she was a betrayer, and her betrayal was fueled by fear (of social ostricism)
Rebecca McKay should be the green lantern because she is possibly the most reasonable member of the female cast, her touch returns reason to her mom when transformed, and her powers allready work similarly to green lanterns
I haven't seen anyone worthy of the blue lantern corps hope, (holycrap, they can de-age stars!) imagine if the second coming of christ happened. that would be the level of hope you'd need (Saint Walker, the leader of the blue lanterns, is the jesus/moses/muhammed of his home planet)
Crissey shoud be of the indigo tribe for the compassion she shows in fixing the old lady's car
The female progenitor who is crissey's mom should be the star sapphire (violet lantern) because her ENTIRE EXISTENCE revolves around love, both scorned, unreturned, and otherwise.
Pick a dead character. Preferrably a zombie. There's your black lantern. Alternatively, kill of the ENTIRE CAST. they are now black lanterns. Black lanterns are constructs of Nekron (Death Incarnate)
Nodens is the only one I can think of for a true white lantern, because she is the self appointed protector of all life. White lantern selection is weird, as there is currently only one white lantern, deadman, and he can't use the white lantern ring.

@bair: Keep in mind, the Daves have already made up their decisions. Our task here is not to change their minds, but to figure out what they've already decided.

@ Bair: Why are you picking on me? :'( (I kid, I kid, X3)
But seriously, I do stand by my list. It may not be right, but it makes sense to me (The Master(s) are trying to use and/or obtain the powers/actual beings of the Old Gods, and that to me is the epitome of greed, while all the Old Gods/their Avatars want to do is either cause fear or fight it.)
I'm not much into the DC verse, so I'm not as well versed in the Lantern mythos as some, so eh.

Interesting… modifying my guesses a bit. Can't make up my mind re: white, but I think it's either this:
Red = Rage = Lin-Lin (naturally) Orange = Avarice = Chrissy (read her bio page – her recent reform notwithstanding) Yellow = Fear = Misty/Momma Hass. Green = Will = Moira Blue = Hope = Fides Indigo = Compassion = Becka Violet = Love = Charon Black = Death = The Shadowchild White = Life = Susan "Grams" McKay
Or this:
Red = Rage = Lin-Lin Orange = Avarice = Chrissy Yellow = Fear = Misty/Momma Hass. Green = Will = Moira Blue = Hope = Fides Indigo = Compassion = Becka Violet = Love = Charon Black = Death = The Shadowchild White = Life = Merri
Oh, and FYI, HPL's Nodens is based upon the male god by the same name… I can't recall with dead certainty, but I'm pretty sure HPL also referred to Nodens as a "he".

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N…..hu_Mythos) :
"Nodens is one of the Elder Gods and appears as an elderly, human male with white hair—gray-bearded and hoary yet still vital and strong. He often rides in a chariot formed from a huge seashell pulled by some great beasts of legend. Nodens is served by the Nightgaunts."

Not me- everyone's got their own interpretation of the characters. Guaranteed the same thing would happen if they tried this with D&D classes, or X-Men characters.

Yeah but I mean, every single colour is near different for everyone!
I was expecting some similarities.

Not True. We've got majority agreement for two
Yellow – Mother Hydra
Blue – Fides
I'm also locking in Nodens for Black, the hint about Spectre as a Blank Lantern leaves the options to Hydra or her, and I like Nodens as an Ender better.
I'm thinking that by the time Green is released, we'll have everything down.

Nodens has breasts and hips, the art style pretty much assures it's a she. Also, Fides is pretty major, but not 'on camera' she has way more story time and character development than Merri, who's in all of 2 pages IIRC. So this gives us:
- Charon McKay
- Becca McKay
- Lindsey Jun Yeoh
- Christmas Snow
- Mistletoe Snow / Mother Hydra
- Nodens
- Moria McKay
- Fides
- Merri (Deep One)
Anyone see any problems with this as our Character list?

Can you cite a picture of Nodens from SG?
And you should still include Susan McKay as a candidate, as well as including the ShadowChild as an independent entity, since she's not one-and-the-same as either Charon or Becka and participated independently in their fight in the other realm.

Book 1 -> chapter 7 ->-> Heartache – Parts 4,5,6,7(finale) ->-> Waking Dream – Parts 1, 2, 5
I wrote out Susan because she's only 1 page more developed than any of the ISBs. Her only good inclusion reason is that being dead, she qualifies for Black. Based on the intro art for Moria (Sho Nuff July 8, 2009) there's a good chance Moria does too. I'd have written out Moria too if Dave hadn't explicitly included her.
Also, I'm moving for Violet(Love) for Chrissy. She did what she did to Charon for love of Jackson, to the Master for love of Chrissy, to the car for Mrs. Burris' love of her Hubby, etc. Every nasty thing she did she did for love, and it's a twisted love.
Putting mine at:
- Red – Lindsey
- Orange – ? (Moria?)
- Yellow – Mama Hydra
- Green – ? Charon
- Blue – Fides
- Indigo – ? (Merri?)
- Violet – Chrissy
- Black – Nodens
- White – ? Becca

Also Merri is in more than two pages. There's an entire nine-page side story on camera for her, the Cold Comfort arc of May 11 through June 7 of last year. I'm uncertain of her appearances beyond this arc, but it's still a significant contribution.

The entity in I.VII. Heartache 4-7 and I.VII. Waking Dreams 1-2,5 is not Nodens. It's the Shadow Child entity, the child of Nodens, not Nodens himself. From I.VII. Heartache 6, first panel:
"I am the instrument of her undoing, crafted by Nodens for this very moment!"
Nodens never appears on camera. The description given by Lovecraft is decidedly male, and to the best of my knowledge, the Daves have never said they were deviating from Lovecraft on this particular point.
As for Fides being a major character, she may have done something significant off-camera, but we don't get to see enough of her on-camera to get any sense of her personality or motivations. What we do see is, IIRC, almost pure professional, cold execution of a task. Unless I'm mixing her up with Maxine Marquez, or forgetting a major scene, either of which is possible, but I don't believe it to be the case.
If you can show otherwise, please cite the page. And this time, please either give the date it was posted, if you can, or an actual link to the page; they take a lot longer to find otherwise.
