I don’t have a colorful way of relaying this information, so let’s get it over with.

We are delaying the launch of Shadowgirls until after the new year.

We had high hopes of starting on November 2nd but our new Producer/Manager actually sat down and worked out our schedule for the entire year. And it became apparent very quickly that even with several weeks of pages finished, we would end up with D-Rey having less and less lead time until he was doing pages the night before in December. And that just isn’t an acceptable way to get a comic out.

After much talking and discussing and disappointment we reached the conclusion that instead of trying to rush the pages out and end up behind in a month and 1/2 we would delay the launch in order to put ourselves in a position to deliver the book on schedule. In addition to that, we have an entire website relaunch planned with a brand new members section, forum and chat room. So rather than fight the schedule, we are going to stack the odds in our favor and do a complete relaunch of Shadowgirls in 2010.

I know this will be disappointing to our readers but we have a lot of goals to reach next year, including not missing updates, and this gives us the best chance of doing that.

We will have periodic updates on progress and some treats here and there as we’re going, but for now we are off regular schedule. And believe me, you will know the day we are re-launching!

D.Rey here. I’m typing this up early, as by the tie you read this, I’ll be off on the road to Wizardworld Chicago. We’ll be at Artist’s Alley Table 3132. Apparently, according to the map, it’s enter and turn right and head straight down the line. We’re right in front of the concession stand. So if you’re heading there, stop by and say hi.

Today’s art piece here was commissioned by our own Mondo Kane, and I think it turned out nice. There’s a story here… And it should only be fair that D.Mo’ gets to tell it.

We’re kicking off Episode 05 today, people! And who better to kick off that issue than our favorite sidekick Lindsey on her very first cover. We made some serious promises about this episode and I think you are going to be surprised at what is coming up.

I am right in the middle of my three-day whirlwind Christmas Tour. I am posting this right before I go back out into the stores in search of the last few things I will be buying for Christmas. (Including a Cyber Slammer Ratchet Transformer for my six-year old son… I AM SUCH A SUCKER!!) But what am I gonna do.

I can’t buy all of you a Cyber Slammer Ratchet Transformer, but I can give you this. Our most sincere wishes for a Happy and Safe Holiday and this little card. Additionally, we have an announcement coming up in January, but clues to this announcement are placed in the vote incentives.

Do you know what that’s a picture of up there? Now I know some of you are going to say, “DEEP ONE!” or…”JACK PALANCE” and you would both be wrong!

That picture up there…is a sign. A sign that your patience has not been for naught. That your waiting is almost at an end. That come Monday…we return to our regularly scheduled programming.

We’re off tomorrow but enjoy this extra crispy, extra special, treat from Mr. Dave Reynolds and our best wishes for a great holiday. (For those who celebrate it. There are no judgments here!)

Secondly, you may notice two changes in our Logo. One is obviously for the season and is temporary, the second, (the little Season 1) expect to see for the time being. Dave and I have discussed this quite a bit and it has always felt to me as if we were following a television ensemble show format.

And so we’re kind of running with that a bit. More info on that to come soon, but for now, be comfortable with the fact that you are about midway through Season 1 of Shadowgirls.

Some of you may be remember Misty from her great work on Shadowbabies. But you might not know what a talented painter she is as well. Due to the success of Shadowgirls, we are doing a second print of Issue 01 and I asked Misty to draw and paint the alternate cover. Expect to see it soon in our collection of posters!

And here is Cover A for issue 02 of Shadowgirls by Dave Reynolds. Expect to see it in our shop soon with the rest of issue 02 and some new product surprises.
