Thank you to everyone for your well wishes and support on my lousy day Monday. I appreciate it a great deal.
So much in fact that I leave you with this image.
Effigy’s will be on sale in the online store.
See you on Friday.
I have had…a lousy day, culminating in an even lousier evening. Nothing catastrophic, just a series of small annoying things, (much like the hordes of mosquitoes that were devouring me). I don’t know why it is that non-related events can have momentum (in both positive and negative directions) but they do. I’m sure people have done tons of studies on it that would most likely point to it being my own fault that the lousy kept perpetuating (which would really only serve to piss me off more). But then there are things that remind you how lucky you can be and one of the things for me is getting a new page.
A new page is therapeutic for me. There’s something about seeing the words put to pictures and becoming something greater that can soothe a lot of crap away. I like being a part of this webcomic and our growing community. We’ve received comments that it is one of the friendliest and welcoming communities in webcomics and I love getting to hear from you all and speaking to you directly. I may have a blood blistered thumb, flat tire on the car, mosquito bites on my EAR (seriously that sucks) and a water damaged wood floor…but Charon and Becka can make that go away for a little while. And if they can do that for me…maybe it can do it for other people…and that’s just pretty damn cool.
Enjoy today’s page…we’re moving into the home stretch on this one!
I’ll let the page speak for itself today.
But I will call this a landmark day for comics and webcomics and only a webcomic could have pulled off something like this. I knew there was a reason we chose this format.
Have a great weekend!
Yeah…we changed scenes.
But we promise you’ll get to see more about the Insiders are doing before this episode ends.
And Jacobus was the first one to figure out that the link between Fides and Pandora had to do with the Greek name for Fides which is Pistis. (And not nearly as pretty to the ears.
According to myth, Pistis was the spirit of trust, honesty and good faith. She was one of the good spirits who escaped Pandora’s box and fled back to heaven abandoning mankind.
The date is personal for both me and D-Rey…ta daa! See you on Friday!
This weekend I went to a show in Chicago performed by the Chicago Tap Theater. It was the very first Super-Hero Tap Dance Opera I’ve ever seen.
And it was waaaay more entertaining than I thought it would be. Tap Dancing, for those that have never tried it (and one look at my transcript tells you which side I’m on) is INCREDIBLY difficult, and these people went at it non-stop for 90 minutes mixed in with fight choreography and spandex while telling an original comic book style superhero story co-written by Andrew Pepoy.
I will post more details on the news blog soon but for now…
Enjoy today’s awesome and thank the D-Rey for doing the proper research.
Oddly enough, this Friday wasn’t planned out…I think Wed’s page was supposed to be the Friday cliffhanger. This one is almost mean!
See you on Monday!
It’s hard to believe its been an entire year since we launched our fledgling comic into the cyberspace but here we are! I don’t think Dave or I could have expected the support and welcome we would receive from readers but we have seen incredible growth and are looking forward to wrapping up this season and moving on to many more!
In celebration of this auspicious occasion we are hosting a brand new writer’s contest where you will get a chance to write about your favorite characters. Check the news blog and forum for full details! Thank you all for a great year, we could do this without you, but it’d be very lonely.
Monday has arrived! I hope the wait hasn’t been too much.
I have noticed an occurrence with some of our new readers, where they leave comments on earlier pages. While we appreciate them a great deal, it is often a little while before we see those since they don’t appear in the regular queue. If you ARE a new reader you might want to try leaving some comments on older pages in our forums and raise the likelihood that we’ll catch it.
I should probably link a discussion tag from each page to the forum…but you know. That would take a LONG time.
But anyway-let’s see what’s going on with our Deep Ones here.
I was on a plane back from New York City when I wrote this scene and it was one of those scenes that came out so quickly that I didn’t trust it. But other than the normal grammar/punctuation pass it is pretty much intact. I feel like its one of those pages where the art and story combine perfectly. And is able to communicate a lot of things at once and on more than one level. Its one of the nice surprises of getting complete pages from D-Rey rather than sketches etc. The portrayal of the Progenitor and our Prime is just flawless.
Hats off to D-Rey on this Friday, and back on Monday for a startling continuation!
