I love the coloring on this page and the Slaad posing on the boat. It’s almost scenic. Aside from the bloody wreckage.
The sad part about this of course is that my design team started being dismantled after this section was done. (DAMN YOU CANADA!)
I was working on this segment late one night and I couldn’t think of names for the fishermen. I decided to name them after my design team.
Reynolds wanted a sequence to remind people that we weren’t a book entirely about feelings and girl stuff. And really, what’s manlier than fishing?
This background on Charon wasn’t in the original draft of issue 01. I’m so glad we decided to go back and include it.
Reynolds just killed on this sequence. From the expressions to the coloring it was everything I needed it to be.
